The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kano State command, Commandant Mohammed Hassan Agalama, has officially declared open a one-week training program for operatives of Private Guard Companies (PGCs) operating across Kano State.
Speaking at the opening ceremony on Monday, the state Commandant stated that the training was organized to enhance the professional capacity, operational efficiency, and service delivery of private security operatives in line with the mandate of the NSCDC and regulation of Private Guard Companies.
He noted that the program will equip participants with modern security techniques, intelligence gathering, access control, ethics, discipline, and effective collaboration with other security agencies towards improving safety and security within the state.
Commandant Agalama urged participants to take advantage of the training to improve their knowledge and conduct, stressing that professionalism and adherence to laid down regulations remain key requirements in private security operations.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the NSCDC Kano Command to continuous monitoring, supervision and capacity building of Private Guard Companies to ensure improved security service delivery in Kano State.
Earlier in his remarks, the Kano state chapter chairman, Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN), Dr Idris Pukuma appreciated Commandant Agalama for the kind gesture in instantly approving the commencement of the training exercise, while assuring the corps that more companies are to turn out for the exercise as the training progresses.
