The Jigawa State Hisbah Board has destroyed alcoholic beverages valued at N5.8 million in Kazaure Local Government Area as part of its ongoing enforcement of the state’s prohibition laws.
State Hisbah Commander, Malam Ibrahim Dahiru, confirmed the operation on Monday in Dutse, stating that 400 cartons of alcohol were seized during recent raids on bars across Kazaure.
The destruction exercise was led by the Chairman of Kazaure Local Government, Alhaji Mansur Dabuwa.
Dahiru reiterated that the consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited in Jigawa State and emphasized Hisbah’s commitment to curbing immoral practices.
He urged residents to support the Board’s activities by providing useful information and avoiding acts that could undermine societal values.
He also warned against engaging in vices that are detrimental to both individuals and the broader community.
