The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has directed all registered intending pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj to submit their valid international passports between 3 and 7 August 2026, as part of preparations for next year’s pilgrimage.

The Board’s Director-General, Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, announced the directive while speaking to journalists on Monday, saying the exercise is aimed at facilitating documentation and other administrative processes required for the 2027 Hajj.

Matawalle said the early collection of passports would enable the Board to begin the timely processing of travel documents and meet deadlines set by Saudi authorities and other agencies involved in Hajj operations.

He explained that the initiative is part of efforts to streamline preparations, minimize delays, and ensure that all registered pilgrims complete the required documentation well ahead of the pilgrimage.

The Director-General urged intending pilgrims to comply with the directive by submitting their passports within the stipulated period, warning that late submission could delay the processing of their travel documents.

According to him, prompt compliance will enhance the Board’s planning process and contribute to the smooth execution of activities leading to the 2027 Hajj.

Matawalle reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to providing efficient and quality services throughout the preparation period, noting that the passport submission exercise is designed to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.

The directive comes as Hajj authorities across Nigeria intensify preparations for the 2027 pilgrimage following the release of key timelines by Saudi authorities for registration, documentation, and visa processing.

The Board appealed to all registered intending pilgrims to cooperate fully with officials handling the exercise, stressing that early completion of documentation remains vital to the success of the 2027 Hajj operations.
