Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has forwarded the names of two nominees, including his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation as commissioners.
The second nominee is Hon. Balarabe Sa’idu Gani.
The Kano State House of Assembly is expected to screen the nominees on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Assembly’s spokesperson, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, said the legislature had received a formal request from Governor Yusuf to screen and confirm the two nominees.
He said the screening exercise would be conducted in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
