Kano Commends Navy for Personnel Training Investment, Capacity Development

Kano State Government, through the Deputy Governor, Murtala Sule Garo, has commended the leadership of the Nigerian Navy for its sustained investment in training and capacity development of personnel.

He made the commendation today, Thursday, on behalf of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf at the combined graduation ceremony of the Nigerian Navy Logistics College, Dawakin Tofa, Kano.

The event featured the graduation of officers and ratings across five courses, including Logistics Officers’ Basic Course 37, Petty Officers Qualifying Course 48, Leading Seaman Qualifying Course 48, Basic Qualifying Course 56, and Basic Projects Qualifying Course 4.

He described the graduation as a major landmark in the careers of the graduating officers and ratings drawn from five different courses.

According to him, modern naval operations depend not only on equipments but also on sound logistics, planning, and leadership.

“The skills and knowledge you have acquired will enhance your ability to contribute meaningfully to operational effectiveness and combat readiness,” he said.

He urged the graduates to uphold core values such as honour, discipline, loyalty, and selfless service as they return to their various units and formations.

The Deputy Governor also reaffirmed the commitment of the Kano State Government to supporting initiatives that promote peace, security, and national unity.

Earlier in his remarks, the Commandant of the Nigerian Navy Logistics College Dawakin Tofa,, Commodore A.A. Madawaki, described the graduation as another milestone since establishment of the College in Dawakin Tofa Local Government area.

He congratulated the graduating officers for successfully completing their programmes.

Commodore Madawaki said the training combined professional instruction with military discipline designed to build technical competence and leadership capacity.

He noted that the knowledge and skills acquired were intended to prepare the graduates for the complex demands of modern naval logistics and administration.

“The knowledge and values instilled in you are tools to shape your character and guide your professional decisions,” he said.

He charged the graduates to remain exemplary ambassadors of the College and to apply their training diligently in service to the nation.

In a related development, the Deputy Governor inspected some completed projects executed by the Dawakin Tofa Local Government Council Chairman, Muktar Anas Dan Maliki, in various parts of the local Government.
