Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has approved the redeployment of top officials heading critical government agencies.

The redeployment is part of efforts to strengthen service delivery and advance the state’s environmental and development goals.

In a statement on Monday by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the following changes were announced:

  • Dr. Muhammad S. Khalil has been redeployed from the Watershed, Erosion, and Climate Change Management Agency (WECCMA) to serve as the Acting Managing Director of the Refuse Management and Sanitation Board (REMASAB).
  • Lamin Mukhtar Hassan, previously the Deputy Managing Director of REMASAB, will now serve as Deputy Managing Director of the Sustainable Kano Project.
  • Mustapha Sulaiman Mainasara, formerly a Senior Special Reporter at REMASAB, has been reassigned as Senior Special Reporter at the Kano Afforestation Program (KNAP).
  • Dr. Mahmoud Abba has been appointed as the new Acting Executive Secretary of WECCMA.

The redeployments, which take immediate effect, are aimed at boosting operational efficiency across the affected agencies, aligning them with Governor Yusuf’s broader environmental sustainability and urban development agenda.
