Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, on Monday sworn in Ibrahim Umaru as the new Commissioner for Internal Security and Special Services.
The swearing-in took place at the commencement of the 28th Kano State Executive Council meeting held at Kwankwasiyya City.
According to a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad, Umaru was appointed based on merit and his demonstrated capacity to effectively coordinate the activities of security agencies across the state.
Governor Yusuf praised Umaru’s background in security and his distinguished military service, describing him as the right choice to lead the state’s internal security efforts.
He urged the newly appointed commissioner to deploy his experience to address the security challenges facing Kano.
Prior to his appointment, Umaru served as the Director-General of the Special Services Directorate at the Kano State Government House.
