The Green & Environmental Project Initiative (GEPI), a non-governmental organization dedicated to environmental sustainability and climate change mitigation, has commended the Essential Leadership and Integrity Promotion Initiative (ELIP Initiative) for successfully executing its impactful “Waste-to-Wealth: Inclusive Clean Energy and Livelihood” program.
The initiative, supported by PACE, an FCDO-funded program, aims to address climate challenges while creating sustainable economic opportunities for local communities.
Speaking after attending the program’s closing ceremony in Baranda Village, Dutse Local Government Area, one of the three implementation centres, GEPI State Lead, Comrade Ahmed A. Ilallah, described the project as a significant step toward tackling environmental issues and promoting economic empowerment.
According to him, the programme not only offers practical solutions to the effects of climate change but also enhances livelihoods by creating income-generating opportunities for beneficiaries.
He noted that such initiatives have the potential to strengthen both local economies and the broader development of Jigawa State.
GEPI further expressed its appreciation to PACE for its vital support in ensuring the successful execution of the programme, emphasizing the importance of continued collaboration among stakeholders in advancing climate resilience and sustainable development.
