Libya’s Customs Authority and Algeria’s General Directorate of Customs have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at enhancing customs coordination, improving border security, and strengthening efforts to combat smuggling and transnational organized crime.

The agreement was signed in Tripoli at the conclusion of the Joint Customs Committee meeting and includes measures to expand administrative cooperation, enhance training and expertise exchange, and improve the monitoring of cross-border goods and transport.

According to the Libyan Customs Authority, the deal implements recommendations adopted during the Joint Customs Committee meeting held in Algiers at the end of 2024, reinforcing the two countries’ shared commitment to protecting their economic interests and securing border crossings.
