Libya and Turkey have discussed security and logistical arrangements for the upcoming Africa-Turkey Partnership Summit in Tripoli, as preparations intensify ahead of the December gathering.
Acting Interior Minister Imad al-Trabelsi met with a Turkish government delegation to review plans for securing the summit venue and participating delegations, the Interior Ministry said in a Facebook statement on Tuesday.
Both sides stressed the importance of close coordination and completing preparations in accordance with approved security and organisational plans to ensure the summit runs smoothly and demonstrate Libya’s capacity to host major international events.
Meanwhile, trilateral coordination meetings involving Libya, Turkey and the African Union Commission are continuing at the Foreign Ministry in Tripoli ahead of the fourth Africa-Turkey Partnership Summit, scheduled for 8–9 December.
The meetings bring together representatives of the three parties, relevant Foreign Ministry departments and members of the summit’s higher preparatory committee.
Discussions have focused on finalising the summit’s agenda and identifying the remaining steps needed to complete preparations.
The Foreign Ministry said the ongoing coordination underscored Libya’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Turkey and the African Union Commission, advancing their partnership and promoting shared interests.
