President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to restoring peace and stability across Nigeria, particularly in regions battling insecurity.
Speaking through the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, Tinubu gave the assurance while commissioning the first phase of housing projects for victims of banditry in Kaduna State. The initiative, executed in partnership with the Qatar Charity Organization, is part of a broader national effort to rebuild and rehabilitate affected communities.
“Nigeria is in safe hands, and we will restore law and order,” Tinubu declared. “That is an assurance we are giving—it will be done.”
He praised the progress made in Kaduna, noting that peace and reconstruction efforts were yielding results. “Recovery is ongoing, and it is clear that fresh air is blowing through Kaduna. Things are changing,” he said.
The president emphasized that effective governance must prioritize those impacted by violence. “We are wiping the tears of victims of extreme violence, reconciling communities, and giving everyone a sense of inclusion and belonging,” he added.
Tinubu commended the Kaduna State Government, the Office of the National Security Adviser, and the Chief of Defence Staff for adopting a blend of military and community-based approaches to tackle insecurity. He highlighted the “Kaduna Peace Model” as an example of a locally rooted, intelligence-driven strategy aimed at achieving lasting peace.
Citing the reopening of Birnin Gwari Market and the return of displaced farmers, he described the developments as signs of hope and recovery. “Kaduna is wearing a new face—a face of hope, reality, and rebuilding,” he said.
Addressing the victims directly, Tinubu acknowledged their pain and assured them of government support. “We heard you. You are victims of extreme violence, but we are with you. Your government sees you and acknowledges your pain.”
He expressed appreciation to Qatar Charity for its support and reiterated that tackling terrorism remains a top priority of his administration’s national security agenda.
