Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has urged the 1,500 couples who benefited from the state government’s mass wedding program to build their homes on patience, justice, mutual respect and understanding.

He made the call while addressing the newly married couples, reminding them that marriage is an act of ibadah and should therefore be conducted in accordance with the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

According to a statement issued on Saturday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf urged the couples to respect one another, promote fairness in their homes and foster peaceful coexistence.

He also encouraged them to put into practice the lessons and guidance they received during their pre-marital counselling sessions.

Governor Yusuf prayed for Allah’s blessings upon their marriages and for righteous children who would become beneficial to their families, society and humanity.
