One Kano Agenda has congratulated the Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, on receiving the prestigious Crisis Communicator Award at the 4th Economic Confidential Lecture and 6th National Spokespersons Awards organised by Image Merchants Promotion Limited (IMPR).
In a statement issued on Thursday by its Director General, Abbas Abdullahi Yakasai, the organization described the award as a significant recognition of Waiya’s contribution to effective public communication and his efforts to provide citizens with clear, timely and relevant information, particularly during crises.
One Kano Agenda said effective crisis management goes beyond responding to difficult situations, stressing that it also requires responsible communication, effective management of public expectations and the promotion of understanding among stakeholders.
The organization said Waiya had demonstrated these qualities through his engagement with the media and the wider public.
It also commended the NIPR for recognising professional excellence in crisis communication, noting that such awards encourage public officials and communication practitioners to improve the quality, credibility and effectiveness of their engagement with citizens.
Kano One Agenda joined colleagues, media professionals, government officials and residents of Kano State in celebrating Waiya, expressing confidence that the recognition would further inspire him to promote constructive communication, peaceful coexistence and responsive governance in the state.
