The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has concluded arrangements to ensure adequate security during the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations across the state.
The State Commandant of the Corps, Mohammed Hassan Agalama, approved the deployment of 3,250 operatives to strategic locations to guarantee peaceful celebrations before, during, and after the festive period.
A statement issued on Monday by the Command’s spokesperson, SC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, disclosed that special security attention would be focused on Eid prayer grounds, recreational centres, and other public places expected to witness large gatherings during the celebrations.
The command also stated that security around critical national assets and infrastructure would be strengthened to prevent any form of sabotage or criminal activity.
According to the statement, the Corps’ Rapid Response Squad (RRS) will intensify surveillance and patrol operations across the state and respond swiftly to emergencies whenever necessary.
It added that the NSCDC would continue to work in synergy with other security agencies to ensure effective security coverage throughout the Sallah period.
The command warned thugs and other criminal elements to desist from unlawful activities and allow residents to celebrate peacefully.
“The Corps will never condone any breach of public peace and is fully prepared to deal decisively with miscreants and enemies of peace in accordance with the law,” the statement said.
The command also extended advance Eid-el-Kabir greetings to residents of the state.
