The Director-General of the Kano State Information and Communication Development Agency (KASITDA), Dr. Bashir Abdu Muzakkari, has reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to advancing digital governance in Kano State following a strategic working visit to the Kano State Urban Planning and Development Authority.

According to Dr. Muzakkari, the visit was aimed at introducing a newly developed computer application designed to modernize urban planning operations, in alignment with the State’s Digital Transformation Agenda (DTA).

He noted that the initiative is part of KASITDA’s broader drive to accelerate the seamless transition to e-Governance across critical sectors, particularly Health, Justice, and Lands Administration.

Dr. Muzakkari further emphasized that the project is a key enabler of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), as it promotes the deployment of interoperable digital systems, shared platforms, and standardized data frameworks necessary for efficient, transparent, and inclusive public service delivery.

He explained that the initiative is designed to support targeted sectors in migrating from manual to fully digital operations, thereby improving the speed, accuracy, and accessibility of services provided to the citizens of Kano State.

Highlighting the expected impact, the Director-General described the project as a transformative and cross-cutting intervention that will enhance operational efficiency, strengthen urban regulatory compliance, and improve transparency and security in government processes. In the Justice and Lands sectors, he noted that the system will streamline case management and land administration processes while boosting internally generated revenue.

In the Health sector, it will enable unified patient data management, optimize resource allocation, and support data-driven public health intelligence.

Dr. Muzakkari added that beyond sectoral improvements, the initiative will deepen public trust in government institutions, expand access to services, reduce bureaucratic bottlenecks, and establish a sustainable digital foundation for innovation and economic growth in Kano State.
