Kano Issues Stern Warning to Youths Against Disruption of Public Peace

Editor

Kano State Government has issued a strong warning to individuals or groups intent on disrupting the peace across communities, urging them to desist or face decisive action from the authorities.

This warning was delivered by the State Commissioner for Internal Security and Special Services, Retired Air Vice Marshal Ibrahim Umar, during a security assessment visit to Kurna Tudun Fulani, an area identified as highly vulnerable within Dala Local Government Area.

The visit followed credible intelligence reports indicating that some unruly youths have been terrorizing the community, leading to significant loss of property and the tragic deaths of innocent residents.

Commissioner Umar expressed deep concern over the recent outbreak of violence involving local youth, which resulted in the death of one Abba Sa’idu Mai Hula.

He emphasized that such incidents are unacceptable and will not be tolerated by the current administration.

The Commissioner highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts, under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf, to address youth unemployment through comprehensive skills acquisition programs aimed at fostering self-reliance and meaningful engagement among the youth.

“Security is a collective responsibility.

“Everyone must contribute to safeguarding lives and property within our communities,” he stressed.

He called on all households in the area to remain vigilant and cooperate fully with security agencies by reporting suspicious activities, stressing that community involvement is vital to overcoming security challenges.

During the visit, the Ward Head of Tudun Fulani, Malam Usaini Ibrahim, appealed to the government to intensify efforts to curb the activities of hoodlums and other criminal elements in the area.

He suggested the transformation of a local refuse dump into a police outpost, which he said would bring security presence closer to the community and deter criminal activities.

Commissioner Umar, accompanied by local elders, inspected the proposed site and assured the community that he would formally recommend the proposal to the appropriate government authorities.

The Commissioner was joined on the visit by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dan’asabe Yahya, and all the Directors of the Ministry. Together, they visited the family of the late Abba Sa’idu Mai Hula to offer condolences.

He prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the deceased and strength for the bereaved family to bear the loss.
