The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Riliwan Disu, on Wednesday unveiled two Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses donated to the Nigeria Police Force by Sterling Oil Exploration and Energy Production Company Limited (SEEPCO) to enhance personnel welfare and operational efficiency.
The unveiling ceremony, held at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, was attended by senior police officers and top executives of SEEPCO, including the company’s Managing Director, Mohit Barot; Director of Business Development, Raj Bhargava; Public Relations Officer, and other officials.
Speaking at the event, IGP Disu expressed appreciation to Sterling Oil for the donation, describing it as a commendable corporate social responsibility initiative that demonstrates the private sector’s support for national security.
He said the eco-friendly CNG buses would strengthen welfare logistics and improve the operational mobility of police personnel, while also aligning with efforts to promote cleaner and more sustainable transportation.
The police chief noted that partnerships between the Nigeria Police Force and responsible corporate organizations remain critical to enhancing the Force’s capacity to effectively discharge its constitutional mandate.
On behalf of SEEPCO, the company’s management reaffirmed its commitment to supporting security agencies through strategic interventions aimed at improving public safety and national development.
The donation underscores the growing collaboration between the private sector and security institutions in strengthening law enforcement capabilities and advancing sustainable development initiatives.
