The Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), the Edo State chapter has warned the 206 intending pilgrims in the State to this year Hajj to Saudi Arabia against drugs peddling and other criminal and social vices.

The Edo State chairman of NSCIA, Abdulaziz Igbinidu, advised in a message to the intending pilgrims.

The intending pilgrims are scheduled to depart to Saudi Arabia for the Hajj on May 14, 2025.

Abdulaziz, who informed the pilgrims of the dos and don’ts in Saudi Arabia, warned that once a pilgrim indulges in those things that are forbidden during pilgrimage, such pilgrims face the full wrath of the law.

“My advice to you is that as you are going for Hajj, this time is to be a good ambassador of Edo state and Nigeria.

“You should shun drug peddling because some people that attempted to push drugs there in the past pay dearly for it. So, they should follow the rules in order not to be a disgrace to Edo state and Nigeria,” he said.

He, however charged them to obey the rules and regulations of the host country so that they can perform the Hajj successfully and get full reward from Allah.

The NSCIA chairman, reminded them that there are some very important things that they must do to make the Hajj valid.

“You should follow the advice of the officials that are accompanying you in order not to miss any of the compulsory aspects of the Hajj,” he advised.
