Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris has felicitated with Muslim Ummah over Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
In a goodwill message, he urged the Muslims to use the occasion to promote peace, tolerance, and understanding not only amongst them but also between them and non Muslims.
“I felicitate with the Muslim Ummah in Kebbi State and beyond on this blessed occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, a season of sacrifice, faith, and obedience to Allah.
“May the virtues of Prophet Ibrahim inspire us to uphold peace, tolerance, and unity across our communities as we celebrate this sacred festival with gratitude and humility.
“We remain committed to sustaining peace in Kebbi State by strengthening community dialogue, supporting traditional institutions, and promoting mutual respect among all ethnic and religious groups,” he said.
Governor Idris said security remains one of the top most priorities of his government, saying: “We will continue collaborating with security agencies and vigilante groups to protect lives, secure farmlands, and restore lasting tranquility statewide.
“Our administration is accelerating infrastructure delivery across Kebbi, with new roads, bridges, rural electrification, and water projects designed to connect communities and stimulate local economic growth.
“Agriculture, the backbone of our economy, is receiving unprecedented support through the distribution of free assorted fertilisers, improved inputs, power tillers machines, extension services, irrigation schemes, and access to markets for our farmers statewide.”
According to him, the present administration has expanded access to quality education by constructing, renovating and re-contructing schools, recruiting teachers, distributing learning materials, and strengthening technical and vocational training for the children’s future.
He said: “In healthcare, we are upgrading primary health centres, equipping general hospitals, recruiting medical personnel, and scaling up maternal and child health programmes to save lives.”
On women and youth empowerment, he said the present administration “is creating jobs and skills through grants, entrepreneurship training, ICT hubs, and targeted credit schemes to unlock their vast potential.
“As you celebrate Sallah with family, friends, and neighbours, I urge you to remain law-abiding, show compassion to the less privileged, and pray for Kebbi and Nigeria’s prosperity.”
