Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State on Tuesday in Ihugh extolled the First Lady of Nigeria, Sen Oluremi Tinubu’s commitment to women and youth in the state.
The Governor also named the Community ICT after Mama Lucy Aluor.
He described Sen. Tinubu as a mother and friend of the state whose interventions, particularly through the Renewed Hope Initiative, have continued to support women, youths, children, and vulnerable groups.
The Governor stated this earlier today at Ihugh, Vandeikya Local Government Area during the commissioning and handing over ceremony of the Community ICT centre by Sen. Tinubu.
He said the centre will enhance digital literacy, empower youths with employable skills, bridge the digital divide, encourage innovation and entrepreneurship, and prepare the people to thrive in the rapidly evolving digital economy.
The centre was an initiative of RHI in partnership with The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and Benue State Government.
According to the Governor the Centre represented the administration’s commitment to ICT development and rural transformation.
He said the ICT centre would open up previously inaccessible ICT areas, improve network connectivity, create employment opportunities, and boost economic activities in the communities.
He appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for supporting state governments and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prudent management of resources and the delivery of more impactful projects.
