Katsina Sets Up A Committee To Investigate the Governor’s Office Inferno

Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has set up a Committee to immediately investigate the fire outbreak in a part of the Governor’s office, (Muhammadu Buhari House).

The inferno which occurred on Monday has damaged the Mini Chamber attached to the Governor’s office.

Firefighters from both Federal and State were able to control the fire before it escalated to other parts of the office.

The source of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

However, the Committee is tasked with the following terms of reference to find out the cause of the fire outbreak, the extent of the damage caused by the inferno, identify lapses (if) that led to the incident, recommend ways to avert future occurrence, and give any other recommendation that is essential in the circumstances.

The Committee is given the mandate to co-opt any person( s) that could help in discharging its assignment and to submit within a r week it’s report.

The Committee is composed of the Head of Civil Service of the State, the Honorable Commissioner for Works, Housing, and Transport, the Honorable Commissioner for Budget and Planning, the Honorable Attorney General, and the Commissioner for Justice.

Others are the Honorable Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, the Honorable Commissioner for Information and Culture, the Permanent Secretary I, the Government House, the State Commander, the Federal Fire Service, and the Governor’s Office will provide the secretary of the Committee.

The Governor has expressed confidence in the Committee’s ability to thoroughly investigate the incident and provide recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
