Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has relieved six commissioners of their appointments in a cabinet reshuffle aimed at repositioning his administration and enhancing service delivery.
The decision was announced on Wednesday by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Labaran Magaji, while briefing journalists after the State Executive Council meeting in Lafia.
The affected officials headed the Ministries of Works, Women Affairs, Information, Lands, Science and Technology, as well as Security and Sundry Matters.
Magaji said the commissioners were asked to step aside to make way for fresh ideas and renewed momentum as the administration enters the final phase of its tenure.
He clarified that the move was not due to poor performance, stressing that the government appreciated the dedication, efficiency and valuable contributions of the affected commissioners during their time in office.
According to the SSG, the reshuffle is designed to strengthen governance, inject fresh energy into the administration and ensure the government fully delivers on its mandate before the expiration of its tenure.
He added that the former commissioners would remain part of the administration and could be assigned other responsibilities in the future, while the names of their replacements would be announced through the appropriate channels.
