Fresh from emerging as Nigeria’s most subscribed university for the second consecutive year, Lagos State University has recorded another major milestone with the award of N25 million by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The university received the cash prize during the 2026 JAMB Policy Meeting held on Monday in Abuja as part of the National Tertiary Admissions’ Performance-Merit Award (NATAP-M Awards).
LASU emerged as the Second Runner-Up Institution in the overall category of the prestigious award, securing an aggregate score of three points across the five assessment elements of the Mega Award in the sixth edition for the 2025 admission year.
The award was presented to the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, by the Registrar of JAMB, Ishaq Oloyede.
The latest recognition comes shortly after LASU emerged as the most preferred institution in Nigeria for the 2026 admission exercise, with a record 84,326 candidates selecting the university as their first-choice institution in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Speaking on the achievements, the Vice-Chancellor described the twin successes as a testament to the university’s commitment to excellence, innovation, transparency, and student-centred administration.
