Hon. Natasha Osawaru-Idibia, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly representing Egor Constituency, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Natasha, who is married to popular Nigerian singer 2Baba, announced her defection on May 7, 2026, declaring her intention to seek re-election to the Edo State House of Assembly under the platform of the NDC.
She formally joined the party at the NDC national headquarters in Abuja, where she was received by the party’s national leader, Seriake Dickson, alongside other party stakeholders.
The event also attracted the presence of 2Baba, who appeared in an NDC-branded vest in support of his wife’s political move.
Natasha defected alongside several other political figures, including members of the PDP in Edo State, in what observers describe as a significant development in the state’s evolving political landscape ahead of the 2027 elections.
