The family of the late Hajara Sulaiman has marked the seventh-day Fidau prayers in honour of the deceased, who passed away at the age of 98.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by Imam Inuwa Gwale, the family described the late matriarch as a woman of strong faith, compassion, and enduring influence, whose life left a lasting legacy on her children, grandchildren, and the wider community.
Quoting the Qur’an, “Every soul shall taste death” (3:185), the family reflected on her passing as a return to her Creator after a fulfilled and impactful life.
They noted that Hajiya Hajara Sulaiman was widely respected for her patience, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to God, adding that she served as a moral guide and source of inspiration to many.
“Her prayers, advice, and kindness will never be forgotten. Since her passing, her absence has been deeply felt in the home and beyond, but we take solace in the knowledge that she lived a good life and returned to her Lord in peace,” the statement read.
The late Hajara Sulaiman is survived by her children, Ahmad Tijjani Inuwa, Bashir Muhammad Galadanchi, Ummukulsum Muhammad Inuwa, Imam Inuwa (Gwale), Sa’adatu Muhammad Inuwa, and Maimuna Muhammad Inuwa — as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
As part of the Fidau prayers, the family offered supplications for her forgiveness and eternal rest, praying that Almighty Allah grants her mercy, light in the grave, and admission into Aljannatul Firdaus.
They also expressed gratitude to friends, relatives, and well-wishers for their support and prayers during the mourning period, urging continued prayers for the repose of her soul.
