The Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) in Sokoto State have inaugurated 23 Local Government Coordinators as part of efforts to deepen grassroots engagement and consolidate public support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reform agenda.
The inauguration, held on Wednesday, marked a strategic step to strengthen community level mobilisation, policy communication and public enlightenment on federal government programmes across all 23 local government areas of the state.
The initiative is aimed at taking the Renewed Hope message directly to the people, ensuring that citizens at the grassroots are adequately informed about ongoing reforms and governance priorities of the Tinubu administration.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Sokoto State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Haruna Sarkin Gobir Adiya, described the exercise as a decisive move to promote informed citizenship and participatory governance.
Adiya said the inauguration represented a turning point in the collective effort to build a more united, resilient and prosperous Nigeria, urging the coordinators to act as ambassadors of hope, unity and progress in their respective communities.
He explained that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors initiative was established to promote inclusivity, rebuild public trust in governance and counter misinformation through sustained grassroots engagement and direct communication with the people.
According to him, the newly inaugurated coordinators have the responsibility of mobilising citizens, ensuring accurate dissemination of government policies and highlighting the tangible achievements of the Tinubu administration at the local level.
Adiya highlighted key national reforms, including the unification of foreign exchange rates, fiscal restructuring to reduce deficits and boost revenue, and the execution of major infrastructure projects across the country.
He also referenced social and economic interventions such as the national student loan scheme, job creation through micro, small and medium enterprises, and the rollout of the 3 Million Technical Talent Programme to equip youths with digital skills.
The state coordinator further cited agricultural support initiatives, decentralisation of the power sector following the Electricity Act of 2023, expanded social intervention programmes and the construction of healthcare facilities nationwide.
He charged the coordinators to uphold integrity, transparency and selfless service, noting that effective grassroots leadership was critical to sustaining public confidence and advancing national development.
In his remarks, the Sokoto State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Isah Sadiq Achida, expressed confidence in the capacity and commitment of the coordinators, calling for unity and cooperation among party members and stakeholders.
Speaking on behalf of the coordinators, Hon. Musa Sarkin Adar pledged their collective commitment to discipline, teamwork and effective service delivery, as the event drew political leaders, local government chairmen, party stakeholders and media representatives, with the coordinators inaugurated on behalf of President Tinubu, Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto and national leaders of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors.
