The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) on Thursday joined the global community in celebrating the 2025 Customer Service Week with a special event held at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The occasion also featured the formal inauguration of the SERVICOM Committee, tasked with reviewing the Police Service Charter to further enhance service delivery within the Force.
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, was represented at the event by the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Research and Planning, DIG Basil Idegwu.
The ceremony was attended by senior police officers and officials from SERVICOM, including the Acting National Coordinator, Mr. Gbenga Anthony Oshin, who was represented by Mrs. Ngozi Akinbodewa, Head of Operations, alongside other senior staff of the agency.
In his address, the IGP charged officers to uphold the core values of responsiveness, transparency, and accountability in policing.
He recalled that the Nigeria Police Force was named the Most Improved Service Delivery Parastatal of 2024, stressing that the recognition should serve as a motivation to sustain excellence and deepen professionalism across the ranks.
The SERVICOM Committee was jointly inaugurated by DIG Idegwu and Mrs. Akinbodewa.
In her remarks, Mrs. Akinbodewa commended the IGP’s leadership and commitment to ongoing police reforms aimed at improving service standards and strengthening public confidence in the Force.
She urged officers to remain dedicated to delivering quality service to Nigerians.
This year’s Customer Service Week, celebrated globally under the theme “Appreciating Service Excellence and Strengthening Customer Engagement,” highlights the Nigeria Police Force’s alignment with global efforts to promote continuous improvement and citizen-focused service delivery.
