Kano Refers Petitions On Sheikh Lawan Triumph’s Comments To Shura Council

Kano State Government has received several petitions and counterpetitions from faith-based Islamic religious organizations concerning the recent comments made by Sheikh Lawan Triumph in Kano.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has granted clearance that the petitions be referred to the Kano State Shura Council for further deliberations

‎In a statement issued on Thursday by Musa Tanko, Press Secretary to the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), the petitions were submitted by:

‎1. Safiyatul Islam of Nigeria

‎2. Tijjaniya Youth Enlightenment Forum

‎3. Interfaith Parties for Peace and Development

‎4. Sairul Qalbi Foundation

‎5. Habbullah Mateen Foundation

‎6. Imams of Juma’at Mosques under Qadiriyya Movement

‎7. Committee of Sunnah Preachers, Kano

‎8. Multaqa Ahbab Alsufiyya

‎The SSG Umar Farouk Ibrahim has, on behalf of the government, directed that all petitions be forwarded to the State Shura Council for careful study and advice.

‎The Kano State Government reaffirms its commitment to maintaining peace, unity, and mutual respect among all religious groups in the state.

“We urged all residents of Kano to remain calm and continue their normal business and be law abiding,” said the SSG
