Plateau State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Joyce Ramnap, on Tuesday reiterated the commitment of the Caleb Mutfwang-led administration to strengthening security, boosting economic activities, and ensuring citizen-friendly policies for the overall development of the state.
Speaking during a live program on Dr. Fish FM 90.1, Ramnap emphasized the need for State Police as a viable solution to effectively tackle the peculiar security challenges confronting Plateau communities.
She assured that the government continues to collaborate with federal security agencies while also supporting measures that will bring security closer to the grassroots.
On the transport sector, the Commissioner highlighted ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and services to facilitate the free movement of goods and people, thereby encouraging ease of doing business across the state.
She noted that efficient transport systems remain vital to opening markets and creating jobs, adding that the train services currently running are designed to further enhance the movement of goods and services.
Ramnap also drew attention to the importance of land registration, stressing that formal documentation of land ownership protects citizens from disputes, promotes access to credit, and supports orderly urban development.
She revealed that the government has approved a 50 percent discount on land registration fees to encourage more Plateau citizens to regularize their land titles.
Addressing security concerns, she reiterated the government’s determination to ensure peace and safety through the deployment of security personnel, strengthened community vigilance, and consistent engagement with stakeholders to prevent violence and criminal activities.
The Commissioner urged citizens to support government initiatives by leveraging reforms in the transport and land sectors, while cooperating with security agencies to sustain peace and stability in Plateau State.
