The Ekiti State Government has named the Ogoga of Ikere Ekiti, His Royal Majesty Oba Samuel Adejimi Adu Alagbado, Agirilala II, as the new Chairman of the State Council of Traditional Rulers.

The appointment follows the expiration of the tenure of the former chairman, the Olojudo of Ido Ekiti, Oba Ayorinde Ilori-Faboro, who has now retired from the role.

In a statement signed by Deputy Governor Chief (Mrs.) Monisade Afuye and released on Thursday, the government confirmed the transition, which aligns with the constitutional two-year term for the position. Oba Ilori-Faboro was appointed on 31 July 2023, with his tenure ending on 31 July 2025.

Oba Adu Alagbado is now expected to lead the council in fostering unity among traditional institutions and supporting the state government in grassroots governance and cultural preservation.
