Two weeks after the violent unrest that affected Rano town, the Chairman of Rano Local Government, Malam Naziru Yau, has called on residents to ensure a peaceful and harmonious Eid al-Kabir (Sallah) celebration.
The Chairman, who spoke through the Speaker of the Rano Local Government Council, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Abdullahi Jibrin, urged the people of Rano to put the recent crisis behind them and embrace the spirit of forgiveness, unity, peace and fear of Allah that the Eid al-Kabeer sacrifice represents.

“I appeal to our youth, religious leaders, traditional rulers, and all stakeholders to ensure that the upcoming celebration is free of violence and disorder.”
The Chairman also reassured residents that adequate security measures have been put in place to protect lives and property throughout the festive period. He called on all members of the community to cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies.
He commended governor Abba Kabeer Yusuf for providing democratic devidents and offering purposeful leadership in the state.
He assured residents of the council of his administration determination to provide more democratic dividends and urged them to continue to pray for the peace and stability of the country.
