Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, on Wednesday, called on anchors of political programs on radio stations to promote the use of decent language in their presentations.
He made this call when the Kano State Radio Political Programs Presenters Forum paid him a courtesy visit to his office.
Comrade Waiya emphasized that political program presenters have a crucial role in ensuring that their guests use decent language without resorting to insults or disrespectful remarks.
He assured the delegation that the government would include them in a special program designed to provide training aimed at enhancing their skills and professionalism.
The Commissioner also reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting the Forum’s welfare, enabling its members to continue serving the public effectively.
He added that their cooperation is vital in curbing the use of abusive language in political discussions while clarifying that this does not imply an end to political opposition.
In his remarks, the Chairman, Kano State Radio Political Programmes Presenters Forum, Abdullahi Muhammad Wali, stated that their visit was to congratulate the Commissioner on his appointment.
He also assured the Commissioner of the forum’s commitment to supporting efforts to promote the use of refined language in political programs.
Wali further appealed to the government to assist their forum, particularly, training for its members.
