President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm felicitations to Muslims across Nigeria and the world on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, urging citizens to embrace sacrifice, unity, compassion, and national renewal.

In his Sallah message on Tuesday, the President thanked Almighty God for preserving lives to witness another Eid celebration, describing the festival as a reminder of the enduring virtues of faith, obedience, and sacrifice exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.

According to President Tinubu, Eid-el-Kabir calls on Muslims and all Nigerians to uphold selflessness and compassion toward fellow human beings, irrespective of race, ethnicity, or creed.

“One central lesson of Eid-el-Kabir is the call to show mercy and compassion, regardless of race, ethnicity, or creed,” he said.

The President noted that Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son, Ismail, remains a timeless example of duty and devotion to God.

Speaking on the nation’s economy, Tinubu said Nigeria was undergoing a process of reconstruction and renewal through reforms initiated by his administration, acknowledging that the measures were difficult but necessary for long-term prosperity.

He expressed satisfaction that the sacrifices made over the past three years had begun to yield positive outcomes, including a more stable economy and improved investment opportunities capable of driving job creation and economic growth.

“The walk through the dark tunnel is over, and the light is here,” the President stated.

Tinubu also expressed optimism that ongoing reforms would continue to improve security and create greater opportunities for Nigerians.

While commending the efforts of security and intelligence agencies, including the recent elimination of a wanted ISIS leader, the President acknowledged that terrorists and bandits were still attacking some communities.

He, however, assured affected citizens that the government remained committed to defeating criminal elements across the country.

“I assure you: you are neither abandoned nor forgotten. We will ultimately defeat all the forces of evil,” he said.

The President urged Muslims to use the sacred occasion to pray for peace, unity, and wisdom for leaders, while also encouraging citizens to support the less privileged and strengthen bonds of brotherhood.

Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a peaceful Nigeria where citizens can worship freely and pursue their aspirations without fear.

He added that the government would continue investing in security, infrastructure, agriculture, and human capital development to fulfil the nation’s promise.

The President wished Nigerians a peaceful, joyous, and blessed Eid-el-Kabir celebration, praying that Allah accepts the sacrifices and prayers of the faithful and continues to bless the country.

“Eid Mubarak! Happy Sallah!” he said.
