The Sokoto State committee for the verification and payment of gratuities to retirees, under the state Accountant General, Umar B. Ahmad Tambuwal, has announced dates for the verification and payment of gratuities to retirees from October, November, and December 2018, as well as those retired in June and July 2024.
The retirees according to a statement signed on Thursday by Sarajo Ibrahim Gada, the spokesperson of the Ministry, the beneficiaries are to present themselves to the Ministry of Finance headquarters on Friday the 14th of February 2024 to confirm the inclusion of their names in the list.
The statement stated further that the verification and confirmation aim to ensure prudence and accuracy in the payment process.
Additionally, retirees whose names were captured in the list were requested to return to the Ministry on Saturday, 15th February 2025 at 10:00 AM for further verification. This will help finalize their records and expedite action in the payment process.
“The verification exercise will continue on Sunday, 16th February 2025, at the Ministry’s headquarters.
“Retirees who locate their names should come with essential documents, including computation slips, pension identification card, or any form of identification necessary that will enhance prompt and easy verification.
“This verification process is crucial to ensure that all retirees receive their rightful benefits without delays.
“It is also an opportunity for the senior citizens to address any discrepancies or missing information regarding their pension records.
“It is most for retirees to attend the scheduled sessions on the specified dates, failure which will lead to delays in processing and payment of the entitlement.”
