The Kano State Health Trust Fund (KHETFUND) has organised a sensitisation meeting for Zonal Director, PHCC and WTO’s in charges From Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area on how to access funds for Regular health interventions in their respective Healthcare facilities.
The meeting took place at Khalifa Sheikh Isyaka Rabi’u Paediatric Hospital(KSIRPH) conference Hall on 27th August 2026 aimed at strengthening the participants’ understanding of the procedures and requirements for accessing funds provided by KHETFUND for Regular health interventions.
Speaking at the meeting, the Executive Secretary of KHETFUND, Dr. Fatima Usman Zahradeen, said the objective of the sensitisation was to educate participants on how to assess and request for healthcare interventions in their healthcare facilities.
She explained that healthcare facilities may encounter different problems requiring immediate financial intervention, stressing the need for facility heads and health officials to understand the appropriate procedures for accessing available funds.
Dr. Zahradeen urged the participants to apply the knowledge acquired during the meeting and ensure that emergency health needs in their respective facilities are properly identified, assessed and communicated through the appropriate channels.
She also emphasised the importance of accountability, transparency and proper utilisation of funds allocated for emergency healthcare interventions.
Responding on behalf of the Tofa zone, Shafiu Ahmad, who represented the Zonal Director Aisha Sani wali expressed appreciation to KHETFUND for organising the sensitisation meeting.
He said the initiative would enhance the capacity of healthcare personnel to respond effectively to emergencies and contribute to improved healthcare service delivery at the grassroots.
Also speaking, Muktari Datti, PHC Coordinator of Tofa Local Government Area, commended KHETFUND for the initiative, describing the meeting as timely and beneficial to healthcare providers.
He noted that equipping healthcare facility managers with the necessary knowledge on accessing funds would help facilitate timely interventions and improve healthcare delivery within their communities.
The participants expressed their commitment to applying the knowledge gained from the meeting and strengthening collaboration with KHETFUND to address emergency healthcare needs in their respective facilities.
