The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the successful payment of all outstanding refunds to intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj exercise who had earlier deposited the initial fare.
The Director General of the Board, Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, disclosed this during an interview with journalists on Tuesday, stating that about five batches of pilgrims have received refunds covering the balance from the initial Hajj fare they paid.
He explained that the initial fare was pegged at N8,500,000 but was later reduced to N7,696,813, with the difference now fully refunded to affected pilgrims.
Matawalle advised any pilgrim yet to receive their refund to contact their respective banks or liaise with Hajj officers in their local government areas for assistance.
He affirmed that the Board has now fulfilled its obligation regarding the payment of all outstanding balances.
