The Kano State Ministry of Health, under the leadership of the Honorable Commissioner, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, convened a strategic coordination meeting with the National Health Fellows across all 44 Local Government Areas of the state.

The event took place at R&K Guest Palace, Kano, with support from the LAFIYA Program.

The high-level engagement aimed to strengthen collaboration and coordination between the Ministry and the fellows deployed to various local government areas (LGAs).

In his keynote address, Dr. Yusuf commended the fellows for their dedication and contributions toward improving health outcomes at the grassroots level.

He reiterated the state government’s commitment to revitalizing primary healthcare and ensuring universal health coverage.

The meeting brought together key stakeholders from the Ministry, LAFIYA Program representatives, and all the National Health Fellows who actively participated in reviewing progress, sharing experiences, and charting a way forward to enhance health service delivery in the state.

The LAFIYA Program, which supports health system strengthening across Nigeria, continues to play a crucial role in building capacity and promoting sustainable health interventions in Kano State.
