The Kano State House of Assembly’s Standing Committee on Environment during an oversight visit to the Refuse and Sanitation Management Board (REMASAB), the committee expressed disappointment with the level of abandoned trucks and equipment, hindering effective waste management.
Chairman of the committee, tasked REMASAB to double its efforts in curbing waste disposal failures, emphasizing the need for capacity building, equipment, and funding to address environmental health concerns.
The committeee also advised REMASAB to establish zonal offices across the state, enabling them to reach out to community areas and tackle the heavy load of refuse.
