Jigawa state government through the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has opened a tender to award a contract to build new 30 blocks of classrooms and renovate 15 others across the state.
Speaking at the tender opening exercise the Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Prof. Haruna Musa added that, the tender also included the supply of 2,389 cartons of exercise books, the procurement 122sets of 3 seater classroom furniture, the printing of primary school certificate 358 rims, the supply of chalk 638 cartons and 475 sets of students uniform.
Prof Haruna noted that the sum of N356,357,906.00 was approved for the contract. He assumed the contractor’s companies the following due process in selecting the winning company.
“We will also assure you timely payment and fulfillment of all government contractual obligations, however, we will not accept any compromise of standard and other contractual obligations from the contractors,” the chairman stated.
In his speech at the opening exercise held at the conference hall of the board, the Acting Director of Works, Abdullahi Ibrahim, commends the State House of Assembly for supporting the funding of the educational sector.
“The project to be executed is part of the constituency projects allocated to the members of the state house of assembly, which is a clear demonstration of their commitment to support the state Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, in his determination to revitalize the state education sector through the 12 point agenda design to make Jigawa state Great,” Acting Director stated.
In their comments, the contractors’ companies that participated in the tender thanked the state government for giving them the opportunity, and all the patronage it has given them, they also assured their commitment to deliver quality jobs.
