Kano State Ministry of Education has announced that all public and private primary and secondary schools across the state will commence the Eid-el-Kabir holiday on 22 May 2026.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the ministry’s Director of Public Enlightenment, Musbahu Aminu-Yakasai.
According to the statement, boarding schools will close on Saturday, 23 May, and resume on Sunday, 31 May, while day schools will begin the holiday on Friday, 22 May, and resume on Monday, 1 June 2026.
The ministry urged parents and guardians of students in boarding schools to pick up their children on the approved closing date and ensure their prompt return on the resumption date.
The Commissioner for Education, Ali Haruna-Makoda, wished students, teachers, parents, and the entire education community a peaceful and joyful Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
