President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the immediate arrest of George Nwabueze over the alleged operation of a fake government agency within the premises of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).
He also directed the immediate suspension of three permanent secretaries following fresh findings by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in its investigation into alleged fake government agencies and weaknesses in public service processes.
The latest development followed findings by the ICPC concerning the alleged establishment and operation of unauthorised government agencies within government premises.
Nwabueze is expected to face investigation over his alleged involvement in the operation of the purported fake agency at the OSGF.
The suspension of the three permanent secretaries forms part of measures ordered by the President in response to the ICPC findings.
Further details on the identities of the suspended officials and the outcome of the investigation are expected to be made public as the probe progresses.
