PILGOB Commends Governor Namadi for Unveiling 2025–2030 Local Government Development Plan

The Partnership for Inclusive Local Governance and Budget (PILGOB), a coalition of civil society organizations dedicated to promoting inclusive local governance, accountability, transparency, and citizen participation in local government budgeting and administration, has commended the Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar Namadi, for unveiling the 2025–2030 Local Government Development Plan for the state’s 27 Local Government Areas.

In a statement issued by the Secretary General of PILGOB, Comrade Ahmed ILALLAH, the organization described the initiative as a historic milestone that demonstrates the Governor’s commitment to strengthening grassroots governance through strategic planning and sustainable development.

According to the statement, the availability of a comprehensive development plan will provide every local government council with a clear roadmap, measurable targets, and defined priorities for delivering quality services and accelerating socioeconomic development across communities in Jigawa State.

Governor Umar Namadi officially unveiled the Jigawa State Local Government Development Plan (2025–2030) on Monday, 27 July 2026, during a ceremony held at the Council Chamber, Government House, Dutse.

The event marked another significant achievement in the administration’s efforts to institutionalize long-term planning, enhance good governance, and promote balanced and inclusive development across all 27 local government areas.

PILGOB noted that the development plan provides a comprehensive framework for sustainable development, economic transformation, improved public service delivery, and strengthened institutional capacity at the local government level.

The organization also commended all stakeholders, development partners, technical experts, and government officials who contributed to the preparation of the blueprint.

It urged all local government councils to faithfully implement the plan while upholding the principles of accountability, transparency, inclusiveness, and responsible public financial management.

PILGOB expressed confidence that the successful implementation of the development plan would significantly improve governance, deepen democratic participation, and enhance the quality of life of citizens across Jigawa State.
