Kebbi Governor Approves Creation of New District in Zuru

Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has approved the creation of Ummu District under Rafin Zuru District in Zuru Local Government Area of the state.

The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Garba Umar Dutsinmari, disclosed this in a statement issued to journalists in Birnin Kebbi on Friday.

According to the commissioner, Aliyu Ibrahim Gujiya has been appointed as the District Head of the newly created Ummu District.

He said the district was carved out of Rafin Zuru District and comprises eight village areas: Paso, Sondoro, Denkre, Akwanchi, D’hava (Hato), Daklo, Ummu (Gari) and Bedi.
Dutsinmari explained that the creation of the district and appointment of its head were made pursuant to the Kebbi State Local Government Law, 2008, particularly Section 10, Subsections (A) and (B).
He charged the new District Head to uphold discipline, honesty, transparency and dedication in the discharge of his responsibilities.
The commissioner assured him of the continued support and cooperation of the state government and the ministry, noting that his appointment was based on his track record and demonstrated capacity to serve his community.
The state government said the move was part of its commitment to strengthening traditional institutions, improving grassroots administration and promoting peace, unity and sustainable development across Kebbi State.
