The Kano State Fire Service has recovered a 42-year-old man, identified as Sani Uba Kwaru, after he fell into open water at Dan Agundi, Kano.
The incident occurred on Monday, October 26, 2026, following a distress call received by the service at about 1:00 p.m. from one Hamisu Muhammad.
In a statement issued on Monday by the service’s Public Relations Officer, PFO Kabiru Isah Jafar, the fire service said its rescue team immediately mobilized to the scene after receiving the report.
The team conducted a search and successfully recovered Kwaru from the water, but he was unconscious at the time of the rescue.
The service urged residents to exercise caution around open water and other potentially dangerous areas to prevent similar incidents.
