Kwara State Government has approved the implementation of the 2025 promotion for workers in the mainstream State Civil Service, as well as the 2024 and 2025 promotions for employees of agencies, parastatals and media houses.
The approvals, which take effect from September 1, 2026, followed the completion of the necessary processes by the State Civil Service Commission and the affected establishments.
The Acting Head of Service, Dr Olufunke Mercy Shittu, disclosed this in a memo on the implementation of the promotion exercises, following approval by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
According to her, the government also approved the implementation of the 2024 and 2025 promotions for workers in agencies, parastatals and media houses after the conclusion of the required processes and assessment of their financial implications.
She said the 2025 promotion for workers in the mainstream State Civil Service had similarly been approved, with the financial benefits taking effect from September 1, 2026.
Dr Shittu described the approvals as part of the administration’s proactive measures to improve workers’ welfare and strengthen career development within the state public service.
She said the implementation would boost workers’ morale, enhance productivity and provide opportunities for career progression.
The Acting Head of Service appreciated the state government for its continued commitment to the welfare and professional development of its workforce.
