Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has cautioned social media influencers and political commentators against making disrespectful or inflammatory remarks about the National Leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Governor’s spokesperson, said the warning was issued on Saturday at the Government House in Kano during the distribution of 600 motorcycles to social media influencers.
According to him, Governor Yusuf described Senator Kwankwaso as a respected leader whose contributions to the political and socio-economic development of Kano State remain significant.
He warned that the misuse of social media to spread insults, misinformation, and hate speech could threaten peace and unity in the state, stressing that freedom of expression must be exercised responsibly.
The Governor urged political actors to focus on issues and constructive engagement rather than personal attacks, adding that the motorcycles were provided to empower beneficiaries to promote truth, peace, and positive information about government activities.
Governor Yusuf said the initiative was designed to strengthen public awareness and improve communication between the government and the people, while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to stability and peaceful political coexistence in Kano State.
