Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed deep grief over the passing of the President of the National Patriotic Elders Forum for Peace and Unity, Dr. Bature AbdulAziz, describing his death as a painful loss to Kano State and Nigeria as a whole.
Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor’s spokesperson, said in a statement on Sunday that Governor Yusuf described the late Dr. AbdulAziz as a rare elder statesman whose life was marked by patriotism, courage, and an unwavering commitment to peace, unity, and national stability.
Governor Yusuf noted that as a respected business icon and community leader, Dr. AbdulAziz consistently used his voice to promote harmony and to defend constructive government policies, firmly believing that no authority can succeed without the understanding and support of its citizens.
He described the deceased as a bridge-builder who spoke truth with wisdom and stood for national interest above personal or sectional considerations, earning him respect across generations and divides.
Governor Yusuf extended heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Dr. AbdulAziz, members of the National Patriotic Elders Forum for Peace and Unity and the people of Kano State, praying that Almighty Allah grants them comfort in this moment of grief.
He also prayed that Allah, in His infinite mercy, forgives the shortcomings of the departed elder and grants him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.
