Former British heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua was at his devastating best as he knocked out YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in a brutal fashion on Saturday at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.
Joshua set the boxing world on fire and gave viewers exactly what they wanted to see as he defeated Paul with 1:31 left in the sixth round by knockout on a right-handed jab that sent Paul to the floor with his brother Logan watching ringside.
The fight marked the end of a 14-month hiatus for Joshua, 36, while for 28-year-old Paul, it was the biggest fight since his boxing career began.
Joshua knows he’s in the twilight of his stellar career, and with a potential, long-overdue dust-up with Fury looming in 2026, there simply could be no slip-up against the American.
Reacting after the fight, Joshua lauded Jake Paul’s performance and insisted that he call out Tyson Fury for a potential fight in 2026.
“Jake Paul has done really well tonight. I want to give him his props, he got up, time and time again.
“wasn’t the best performance. It took a bit longer than expected. But the right hand finally found the destination.”
“I shook off the cobwebs tonight,” Joshua said. “And if Tyson Fury is serious, and if he wants to shake off his Twitter fingers and pick up some gloves, he should fight me. Let’s see how serious he is.”
