The Super Eagles of Nigeria have commenced preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers following the official opening of the team’s camp in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, on Monday.
Head coach Eric Chelle and his backroom staff arrived in Uyo on Monday as the technical crew stepped up preparations for Nigeria’s opening Group L fixtures against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.
The three-time African champions will begin their on-field preparations with their first training session on Tuesday, 22 September
The opening 15 minutes of the session will be accessible to members of the press.
Nigeria will welcome Madagascar to the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday, 25 September before travelling to Guinea-Bissau for their second qualifying match on 29 September.
The squad will also take part in media activities on Wednesday, with all the players expected to face the press for exclusive interviews at the team’s base in Ikot Ekpene.
With camp now open, Chelle and his coaching staff have the opportunity to work with the players ahead of the two qualifiers as Nigeria begin their campaign for a place at the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
