Kogi Scholarship Board Submits 23,828 Bursary Applications for Verification

The Kogi State Scholarship Board (KSSB) says it has submitted 23,828 valid applications for the 2025 Students Bursary Award to the state-appointed consultant, Fast Mita Nigeria, for verification.


Mr Afolabi Joseph‑Raji, Executive Chairman of KSSB, who disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday in Lokoja, said the data were presented to the state appointed independent Consultant, Fast Mita Nigeria, for verification.


The Executive Chairman noted that the board received a total of 42,743 applications through its Bursary Management Portal at the end of the online registration exercise, out of which 23,828 were validly completed applications.


Joseph‑Raji hinted that the data of 23,828 students comprised of 23,609 undergraduates and 219 Law School students whose applications were validly completed.

He expressed appreciation to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for giving approval saying that the development aligned with Ododo’s commitment to accountability and transparency in governance.

Joseph‑Raji urged the Consultant to conduct the verification diligently and swiftly within the allotted four‑week timeframe.


This, he said, would ensure timely payment of bursary to deserving and successful Kogi State students for support, in line with Ododo administration’s focus on students’ welfare.


He pledged the Board’s unflinching commitment to ensure transparency and accountability throughout the bursary award process.


Mr Anthony Ogor, representative of Fast Mita Nigeria, assured the Board that the firm would live up to expectations by conducting an accurate verification exercise, free from interference.
